1. Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how the Speedometer app ("the App") handles your information. The App is a GPS-based speedometer designed to display your current speed, track distance, and provide speed limit warnings - all while respecting your privacy.

2. Information We DON'T Collect

We believe in complete transparency. Here's what we explicitly DO NOT do:

• No Personal Information: We don't collect your name, email, phone number, or any identifying information
• No Location Tracking: While the App uses GPS to calculate your speed, we never record, store, or transmit your location
• No Analytics: We don't use analytics services, crash reporting, or any third-party tracking tools
• No Account Creation: The App doesn't require registration or account creation
• No Server Communication: The App doesn't connect to any servers or transmit data over the internet
• No Advertisements: We don't display ads or share data with advertising networks

3. Permissions Required

The App requires certain permissions to function. Here's exactly what we request and why:

Location Permission (GPS)

Why we need it: To access your device's GPS sensor and calculate your current speed in real-time.

How it's used:

• Reading GPS coordinates to calculate speed (velocity)
• Calculating distance traveled between GPS points for odometer functionality
• All processing happens locally on your device
• Your location is never stored, logged, or transmitted

Foreground Service Permission

Why we need it: To maintain GPS tracking while the App is actively in use.

How it's used:

• Ensures continuous speed updates while you're using the speedometer
• Only active when the App is open and visible
• Automatically stops when you close the App

4. Data Stored Locally on Your Device

The App stores minimal settings data locally on your device for functionality. This data never leaves your device:

Settings Data

• Speed Limit Warning: Your configured speed limit threshold (e.g., 130 km/h)
• Maximum Speed Display: Your preferred maximum speed for the dial (e.g., 220 km/h)
• Language Preference: Your selected app language (English, Czech, or System Default)
• Odometer Value: Total distance traveled as tracked by the app

How to Delete Your Data

Since all data is stored locally, you can delete it at any time:

• Clear Settings: Go to Settings → Reset odometer, or change values to defaults
• Complete Reset: Uninstall the App - this removes all locally stored data
• Android Settings: Settings → Apps → Speedometer → Storage → Clear Data

We use ZERO third-party services.

The App does not integrate with any external services, including:

• No analytics platforms (Google Analytics, Firebase, etc.)
• No crash reporting services
• No advertising networks
• No social media integrations
• No cloud storage services

7. Children's Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under 13. Since we don't collect any personal information at all, the App is safe for users of all ages.

While we don't collect your data, we still take security seriously:

• All settings are stored using Android's secure SharedPreferences
• No network communication means no risk of data interception
• Standard Android app sandboxing protects your settings from other apps
• No encryption keys or passwords are stored (since there's nothing to encrypt)

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

If we make any changes to this Privacy Policy, we will update the "Effective Date" at the top of this page and notify users through an app update description. We recommend reviewing this policy periodically.

Our Commitment: We will never start collecting data without making it extremely clear and giving you the option to opt-out or discontinue use.

Since we don't collect your personal data, most data protection regulations (GDPR, CCPA, etc.) don't apply in the traditional sense. However, you always have the right to:

For maximum transparency, you can review the App's source code to verify our privacy claims. The code clearly shows:
